The non-profit foundation Opportunity International Germany believes in the will and ability of poor but motivated people to lift themselves out of poverty. It supports poor people in Africa, Asia and Latin America with a combination of microcredit, savings accounts, insurance and financial, professional and social training. A long-term partnership will help people develop their own small businesses. This creates a secure income and protection for families, new local jobs and strengthens the region in which they live. Poverty, hunger and flight are thus effectively and sustainably combated.
